There is a great variety of personalities and information in Boobalogues, and the artistic touches are often impressive. Much of it is inspiring, and parts are really gripping.

Only a few of the implied opinions bother me. Several, agreeable or not, suggest elaboration or counterargument. But the point is to let the real people talk and hear their message, put it in context, and form your own elaborations. Happily, the video does not attempt to homogenize or smooth over differences, anomalies, or contradictions. So much the richer for the whole!

It was not hard for me to identify with a lot of these people, not in the literal manifestations of their issues, but in the issues themselves and how they affect people, as well as in what the older ones were saying about aging and disease.

Boobalogues is a fine addition to resources on the subject of breasts, especially for middle-aged and older women. And younger ones seeing it might avoid forming unhelpful attitudes about themselves or others.

I just finished watching your movie - and I really found myself going on the journey with these women - and you. In fact - I found myself more drawn in - as the movie progressed. I think it was that the stories became more intimate - or maybe I became more intimate with these women. I also enjoyed your narration - and feel like I know you in a deeper way - as a result of the direction you took in your reflections. It also inspired me - maybe because I can't help but hear and relate to the underlying message of these women and I suppose all women who desire to belong, conform, be desired, feel desirable, measure up, feel normal and comfortable in their own skin. As a result of these desires - how does one define one's self. How do they learn or struggle with self-love and acceptance and ultimately find their self-esteem. It is refreshing to see the mature women in the movie having some of these answers - and I enjoyed them sharing their stories and wisdom.

I watched this film with my two best girl friends.  We  laughed, we cried, we hugged, but most of all... we admired your work.  It actually made us think of our boobs... not only for what they are but for how we feel
about them.  "UPLIFTING"

We are looking forward to a sequal!

Can't wait to share this with my teen girls, my midwife friends, my clients.
I just love this DVD and want to get it out there.

When I first watched Boobalogues, I watched it with my Mom. She wanted me to see it with her, and I was curious. I had an overview from her, but not enough to know what to expect....I could not have been prepared for how amazing and moving this beautifully put together video is. When it was over, I was in tears, not out of pity, but inspiration because of how brave and beautiful the ladies were who talked about their breasts. I have never been so moved than with the beauty and grace of Boobalogues. Thank you Boobalogues, bless you for your courage and boldness in making this so wonderful and full of insight for all that see this powerful work of art.

I really loved how it dealt with such issues. I must admit, it isn't something I would have watched had you not sent it me - I am not usually a 'lets all hug and share' kind of gal - maybe that is the Brit in me - but once I got past my in-built discomfort with that sort of thing I was able to recognize what a great tool and piece of testimony the film is.

My mother, father and I watched Boobalogues this weekend. I was not sure what to expect. ...The film brought me face-to-face with my own thought patterns about how I viewed women.....I am now more aware of the things that we (men), do casually, without thinking, that have great impact on the women in our lives...

Michiko’s honesty touched my mother, and really brought some unspoken “taboo topics” out into the open. I found myself amazed at the stories of every woman in the movie, and how they perceive themselves.....Susan’s story was by far the one that had the greatest impact on me. Her struggle was multiplied by all the women in my life who have endured the oppression of breast cancer.....

This film will challenge men as well as women to change the way they see themselves and others....May this documentary awaken a new awareness in the lives of men and women regarding the breast....

"The film was viewed by a group of women at a family reunion and our Women Surviving Cancer Support group (most of whom are dealing with breast cancer past and present).....surviving breast cancer has opened doors for dialogue as has your film, and now we even say the words...breast, boobs, etc....and we don't hesitate to show our scars/wounds at any opportunity.

For the women at the reunion, the film had them sharing their stories and experiences about their breasts that otherwise would have never been revealed. Perhaps that is the true value of the experience of watching this film, it enables us to to talk openly about body parts and our feelings about them. The humor, the women themselves, the beauty of the film and the stories made us laugh and cry for all women as they become strong and survive."

"The film was really a fine art piece as well as very informative. I was really taken with the fine flowing way the editing went. You have made the world a better for this great communication/art piece. What a wonderful gift to our sisters this is. I loved all the women who shared their stories. Some had such great senses of humor, especially the woman who placed her boobs on the counter to have them observed....... I loved it."

Maggie

"The material was very well presented. Men generally don't hear about how women feel about their breasts. It was well presented. I didn't realize that so many women who had implants ended up later in life wishing that they didn't. As they got older, they changed..."

Ron

"I liked the openness and honesty of the film, and the way the women presented their stories. Their comments were genuine and very touching. I realize that I need a bra fitting."

I watched the video with my wife and we were both impressed with the message and the style of the film making. My wife is large breasted and tears came to her eyes when she remembered having to deal with the harassment and ridicule at a young age. Her sister just went through treatment for breast cancer and so the film was especially meaningful.

You have made a great work, especially in details.

The documentary does a wonderful job showing the great range of responses to breast cancer diagnosis and the disfigurement of surgery and highlights the importance of looking at each woman as a unique individual. Women's body and breast self-image and how they cope with breast disease is dependent on many biological and social variables such as a woman's age when her breasts develop, and how her mother and other family members and peers regard them. This is all very well presented in the video.

I found the discussion of breast augmentation and the pressure some women feel from the men in their lives to have larger breasts surprising and disturbing. In my experience working with Brazilian immigrants in the United States, a large number of those women had undergone breast reduction in Brazil to meet the female ideal in that country, The impact of social and cultural variables on how women feel about their bodies is in! credible.

I invited 11 of my women friends to my house to see Boobalogues. The general discussion was about the artistic-ness of the film Well received by all the ladies who came. They were impressed with the interviews and the wide range of ages of the women interviewed. They were impressed by the music. One of the women who saw it that evening was a teacher. She bought a DVD afterwards so she could show it to her teen audience to see what they thought. Professions of the other women included an LPN - who happens to be a nun, 2 other nuns, one of whom is an R.N.

Kudos! The film, the photography is beautiful, the women, their stories are insightful and serious. Visual transitions and voice-overs were smooth and worked well. The music gives dimension to Boobalogues.....The film is beautiful, very thoughtful and honest. We wish it a wide and long run.

Eva

Boobalogues is beautifully done and the subject was treated with respect, sensitivity and humor. The diverse views on the subject were interesting and revealed much about the way women feel about themselves. I hope this video gets a wide audience.

Therese

I enjoyed it very much. Nicely produced and written, and it certainly was empowering.

Luanna

I loved it. I never realized women thought that much about their breasts. I also didn't know some of the suffering and torment that they can go through at times. It was very informative and made me think deeply. Every man should see this film.

Rod

Just WOW. You must be so proud.

Patrick

Boobalogues was wonderful, sensitive, hilarious and informative.

".......your heart and soul went into 'Boobalogues' and it showed. HATS OFF TO YOU AND THE CREW!, You drew your audience into a forum of 'sisters' who shared experiences that were often our own. As a result, we were privileged to enter into and participate into a discussion that under different circumstances might have been taboo. I would hope that all young girls might have the opportunity to view the film....."

Jane

I found Boobalogues to be interesting. It brought up things that I had not thought about much before.....
